Low carbon steel wire rod (soft wire):
The carbon content of this type of wire rod is less than 0.25%. Due to the low carbon content, it has excellent plasticity. In practical applications, it is mostly used for the production of stirrups in the construction field and as a raw material for cold-drawn steel wire. For example, in the reinforced concrete structure of ordinary residential buildings, stirrups made of low carbon steel wire rods can effectively enhance the stability of the concrete structure.
Common low-carbon wire rods include SAE1008 wire rods, SAE1010 wire rods, SAE1015 wire rods, Q195 wire rods, Q215 wire rods, etc.
ADVANTAGES
The following are the characteristics of SAE1008 wire rods:
- SAE1008 wire rods have good toughness and processing performance, but relatively low strength.
- They are generally not directly used in the production of steel strands.
- They are mainly used for cold processing to produce various parts, such as wheel hubs and chassis parts in automobile manufacturing; standard parts such as bolts, nuts, and washers in machinery manufacturing; hardware such as door and window hinges and latches in the construction industry; furniture metal accessories and bicycle parts in daily necessities.

USE
