Suspension Bridge Cable System

Suspension bridge refers to a bridge that uses cables (or steel chains) suspended through cable towers and anchored to both sides (or ends of the bridge) as the main load-bearing components of the upper structure.

The geometric shape of its cable is determined by the balance of forces and generally approaches a parabola.

The scope of application is mainly for large-span and extra long span highway bridges, and this structure is widely used in today's large-span bridges. It is the main form of long-span bridges.

The cable products of suspension bridges mainly include main cables, cable saddles (loose cable saddles), cable clamps, and suspension cables.

ADVANTAGES

Features of anchoring system:

The system has a simple structure, clear force, less steel, easy installation, and excellent anchoring performance under low stress.
Excellent corrosion resistance and durability. The prestressed steel strands in the prestressed anchoring system pipeline have three layers of protection: epoxy coating, anti-corrosion grease and steel pipe, which greatly improves the corrosion resistance and durability of the system; to prevent grease leakage, the main sealing surface is sealed with a copper gasket to achieve a reliable leak-proof effect.
"Monitorable" and "replaceable" performance. Monitorable means that the anti-corrosion grease can be sampled and tested at any time, and the force sensor can be used to monitor the stress condition of the anchoring system. Replaceable means that, first, by detecting the changes in the grease indicators, the grease in the pipeline can be replaced if necessary; second, by monitoring the cable force changes at any time through the force sensor or after decades, the steel strands can be sampled and inspected. If it is necessary to replace them, the prestressed steel strands can be replaced one by one, and the replacement will not affect the normal operation of the bridge.

USE

Anti-corrosion system:

Anti-corrosion grease is a special prestressed steel bar anti-corrosion grease.
Compared with ordinary grease, it has better pourability and can smoothly fill the prestressed pipe.
Grease is poured into the protective cover to protect the anchor heads at both ends.
The length of the protective cover meets the reserved length of the prestressed steel strand required when changing the cable.

The main technical parameters requirements of the main cable strand:

a) The standard wire length measurement accuracy is above 1/15000;

b) The length measurement accuracy between the marked points on the standard wire corresponding to the starting point of the anchor head at 1 meter, the control point of the slack cable saddle, the midpoint of the side span, the control point of the main cable saddle, and the mid span point is above 1/15000;

c) Finished product strand length measurement accuracy of 1/12000 or above;

Fatigue performance: The upper stress limit is 0.4 σ, the lower stress limit is 0.28 σ, and the stress amplitude is 200 Mpa. After 2 million pulse loads, the number of broken wires in the test cable shall not exceed 5% of the total number; Static load performance after fatigue test: anchorage efficiency coefficient ɧ, greater than or equal to 0.95, ultimate elongation ξ greater than or equal to 2%.
